Susan Vierling, MD


  • Dr. Vierling has been providing retinal care to patients in the Chicagoland area since 1995, after she completed her fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She founded Suburban Retina, Ltd. in 2004, with the goal of providing state of the art care to patients with diseases of the retina and vitreous in a compassionate and comfortable environment. She serves as a clinical assistant professor at Loyola University and is active in teaching medical and surgical retina to ophthalmology residents from Loyola University. She resides in Elmhurst, with her husband, Tim, a physician with the Women's Center for Health in Naperville, and their two sons.

    Daniel P. Owens, MD


  • After serving as chief resident for the Department of Ophthalmology at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, Dr. Owens completed a prestigious fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago. He brings his experience with "cutting edge" techniques to his patients in private practice; he also serves as an instructor in medical and surgical retina for the Loyola University ophthalmology residents. He lives in Hinsdale with his wife, Leslie, and their two children.
