Thank you for trusting us with your care. To enhance patient services, Retina Institute of Illinois plans to close our Elgin office (located at 1435 N. Randall Road, Suite 401, Elgin, IL 60123), effective December 16, 2025. While this was a difficult decision, it allows us to further strengthen care across our practice. We remain fully committed to serving you and welcome you to visit any of our other eight locations.

1. Why is the Elgin office closing?
As part of our efforts to streamline operations and enhance patient care, we have made the decision to consolidate services at our other locations. This allows us to continue providing high-quality eye care with expanded resources and support.
2. When is the last day the Elgin office will be open?
The Elgin office will officially close on December 16, 2025.
3. Dr. Susan Vierling is my eye doctor – which locations will she practice at now?
Dr. Susan Vierling, our primary eye doctor at our Elgin location, will now see patients at our St. Alexius Medical Center (Hoffman Estates), Lombard and Oak Park locations.
3. Where else can I continue receiving eye care?
We encourage you to visit any of our eight other locations, listed below. If you have any questions or need assistance in selecting a new location, please do not hesitate to contact us.

4. What happens to my scheduled appointment?
If you have an appointment scheduled at the Elgin office after the closure date, our staff will reach out to you to reschedule at one of our other locations listed above. If you have not been contacted, please call us at: 847-297-8900 for assistance.
5. What will happen to my patient medical records?
Your medical records will remain securely with Retina Institute of Illinois. If you would like to transfer your records to another provider, you can request a records transfer by completing a form, which is available at the front desk at any of our locations.
6. How do I request my medical records?
You can obtain a records request form from any of our offices, by either visiting in person, calling our offices at: 847-297-8900, or logging in to your online patient portal at: www.mypatientvisit.com. Our team is happy to assist you with the process to ensure a smooth transition.
