Dr. Ruik Chee is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist with over a decade of experience treating complex eye conditions including retinal detachment, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions, uveitis and other retinal conditions. He earned his medical degree from Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine and completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Chee went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Weill Cornell Medical College and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Chee practices at the Retina Institute of Illinois, with office locations in Chicago, Crystal Lake, Gurnee and Niles. He is affiliated with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Ascension Saint Joseph – Chicago. In addition to English, Dr. Chee speaks Mandarin, allowing him to provide care to a diverse patient population.
